SESSIONS AND CLASSES

PERSONAL TRAINING IN SMALL GROUP

PTSG sessions are challenging but fun sessions of 3-8 people moving through a variety of exercises that address 6 pillars of functional fitness using a variety of training tools, including but not limited to: medicine balls, kettlebells, dumbbells, resistance bands, stability balls, suspension training, and ActivMotion bars. PTSG sessions are a cost-effective way for people to experience the benefits of working with a certified functional aging specialist to build strength, power, balance, and flexibility, manage weight, and experience optimal longevity

PRIVATE PERSONAL TRAINING SESSIONS

Private one-to-one training sessions are designed for clients who may be new to fitness or those who are challenged by balance or mobility issues or clients who prefer a more private exercise setting. PPT sessions are generally 30-45 minutes in duration and customized to the clients' current abilities. Rates for PPTS sessions vary and will be discussed with the client during the complimentary health assessment appointment.

EFW PAIN-FREE PROCESS

EFW Pain-Free Process is all about helping individuals find optimal strategies for movement. Chronic low back tightness, shoulder tightness, and hip discomfort are common among the 50+ population, leading many to a higher reliance on pharmaceutical agents and increasing incidence of orthopedic surgeries. However, by understanding and applying the principles of the Integrative Movement System™ – into a corrective and progressive exercise program, we can help our clients improve alignment and control of the trunk and spine leading to more optimal movement. EFW Pain-Free Process is a one-on-one appointment designed to identify current movement strategies and work with the Corrective Exercise Instructor to learn more optimal alignment, breathing and control. As the client improves, progressive strength, balance, and mobility exercises will be added.

Rx RELEASE AND RECOVERY

As we get older, our muscles tend to stiffen, our joints lose their range of motion and we become more susceptible to chronic problems such as osteoporosis, arthritis and heart disease. FSMR can help slow down the effects of the chronic aging process by maintaining muscle softness and flexibility, keeping the mind alert and awake, encouraging relaxation and strengthening muscles and joints. Its multi-pronged approach can encourage the body, mind and spirit to remain healthy and strong while reducing the effects of many age-related issues.

TAI CHI class

Tai Chi is a slow, movement meditation with numerous health benefits. It is a martial art that began as a fighting style just like what you think of when you see movies with ninjas and Kung Fu fighters. Tai Chi is an ancient practice dating back to the 5th century.

There are many styles of Tai Chi including Yang, Chen, Wu, Sun and Wu/Hao. At EFW we teach and practice the Yang style 24-short form of Tai Chi created by Dianne Bailey. Dianne’s system, The Open the Door to Tai Chi system, was created based on her own 15+ years of personal Tai Chi practice. The Open the Door to Tai Chi system allows it to be inviting practice for everyone.
